rc100 from LA
After watching these painful picks for several weeks, I have to make a little proposal. Perhaps the picks league could be run like Premiere League soccer. Bottom two at the end of the season get sent to the B Blog, where they spend next seasong picking D3 college soccer games, because I KNOW how much Carl likes soccer down there in Miami.

Carl from Miami + Miller Genuine
Miller Genuine: Everything I know is wrong. Alright, I can deal with the Patriots crushing an incredibly inconsistent Broncos teams and even a surging Bolts squad succumbing to the East Coast road trip sleep-walk, but FUTURE FIRST-BALLOT HALL OF FAMER AND WRANGLER JEANS ENDORSER BRETT FAVRE LOSING TO THE ‘ONLY A HERM EDWARDS COACHED TEAM COULD BE MORE HAPLESS THAN WE ARE’ OAKLAND RAIDERS!?! I might as well just start drawing team names out of a hat to pick these games.

Carl from Miami
Well. Well, well, well. King Carlos has been reduced to a pauper this week. And wanna know why? Instead of letting everybody’s pal, Big Carl, pick games that a blind monkey could come out ahead on, that idiot Miller went ahead and chose this week’s matchups himself! And look what happened! 0-4. 1-3. 2-2. And another 2-2. Our winning percentage is WRECKED. Here are the new standings: Read the rest of this entry »

Carl from Miami + Miller Genuine
Carl: Okay, last week broke down like this: I went a respectable 2-2, Miller hit 3-1, the hapless Bill Simmons went 0-4 and the Madden Simulator went 3-1. This puts our standings at: 1) Miller: 10-6; 2) Big CARL!: 9-7; 3) Simmons 9-7; 4) Madden 9-7. The season has been tight so far, but I am confident that my picks will emerge victorious!
Miller Genuine: It’s lonely being at the top…and it’s only going to get lonelier after every week’s picks!

Carl from Miami + Miller Genuine
Carl: The favorites all covered last week. That means Miller and I both went 3-1, that damned Simmons went 4-0 and the Madden Simulator went 1-3. Our rankings through last week:
1) Simmons, 9-3 2) Carl, 7-5 3) Miller, 7-5 4) Madden, 6-6
Miller Genuine: Carl and I are both 7-5 on the season, but I notice he ranked himself #2 and me #3. He must have won the scalebreaker…er…i mean…tiebreaker.

Chiefs at Panthers (favored by 10)
Carl: Panthers! Put all the money you have on this! The Chiefs… are terrible. They can’t play at all!
Miller Genuine: I will NEVER, EVER bet on a game involving Herm Edwards unless there’s a gun to my head (or it’s for the blog). The Chiefs lost to the formerly 4-12 Atlanta Falcons by 24 one week and then beat the previously undefeated Denver Broncos by 14 the next week. Everything points to a big Chiefs loss, but I like Damon Huard back in at QB, and this is a classic trap game with the Panthers playing at division leader Tampa next week – Chiefs.
Simmons: Panthers
Madden Simulator: Chiefs Read the rest of this entry »

Will from D.C. (formerly Will from New York. Briefly Will from his parents’ house)
It’s been a while, but I’m finally back and ready to post. The move took a while, and it seems I am making it around to every NFC East city–God help me if I ever land in Philly.
Here are the results from last week’s picks:
Carl: 2-2, 4-4 overall
Miller Genuine: 1-3, 4-4 overall
Simmons: 3-1, 5-3 overall
Madden Simulator: 4-0, 5-3 overall
This blog collectively sucks at making picks.
